Trained and apprenticed at Yoga Works in Santa Monica, Daniel continues ongoing study in yoga and other wisdom traditions to explore the practice of becoming fully alive in each moment. His playful, heart-centered teaching, combines alignment, meditative breath and spirit, in dynamic vinyasa-flow classes that encourage students to reconnect to themselves, creating energy for renewal and joy. Daniel creates a comfortable environment where students of all levels can release physically, quieting their minds to discover a deep sense of peace and well-being.

Daniel is the founder of Recovery Path Network, an organization that provides yoga and mentorship to clients in recovery from eating disorders. He also sits on the Board of Directors of the Yoga Inside Foundation, a non-profit organization bringing yoga into inner-city schools, prison and other nontraditional settings.

Daniel teaches yoga and meditation at the Eating Disorder Center Of California, which serves clients recovering from anorexia and bulimia and at Harmony Place, and Milestones Ranch, residential substance abuse rehabilitation centers in Malibu. He brings to his work a first hand understanding of the ways a committed, joyful practice can rebuild physical, emotional, and psychological wholeness.

Drawing on his background in psychology, and the arts, Daniel leads healing experiential groups that encourage clients to examine and deconstruct personal and social mythology around recovery from substance abuse and eating disorders. Questions of life mission, rediscovering personal meaning and spirituality are examined using methods such as poetic metaphor, meditation and guided visualization and eastern practice, as tools for recovery and soul growth

In addition to his work with private clients, Daniel teaches publicly at Yoga Works, Santa Monica Yoga, Yoga Desa in Topanga, and leads devotional Kirtan, workshops at all three locations. He has taught and led retreats at Sacred Movement in Venice, the Esalen Retreat Center in Big Sur, The White Lotus Foundation and Zaca Lake Retreat Center in Santa Barbara and Matiliha retreat center and The Eco Center in Ojai.

Daniel is currently studying depth psychology at Pacifica Graduate Institute and working as a psychotherapist in training at Counseling West in West Valley California. He also leads trainings for yoga teachers who plan to work with addiction and eating disorders.

Daniel is not only a born teacher with a wonderful warm presence and a capacity to be clear and give permission to challenge one's self in the practice, he also has a genuine connection to the divine universe - and that creates moments where his students can tap into that energy - getting a taste of those all too fleeting, all too precious moments of transcendence...”

“I want to thank you for working with me during my recent visit to LA. I felt amazing after our first session. Physically, my lower back – felt so open it was intoxicating. My massage therapist, who I saw the next day, even noted that I seemed more open in the areas where I experience tightness and pain. Beyond the physical, I couldn’t’ stop smiling after we were done. I was taken aback by the unexpected joy that I felt. If I could bring more of that into my life, I think I would be a much better human being. For all of that I thank you immensely.”

“I don’t know how to thank you for introducing me to yoga. You gave me the ability to relinquish all thoughts and insecurities about myself for those 1 1/2 hours we spent in the yoga room. I haven’t had that in 13 years. Thank you so much for teaching me and giving me the tools to relax. ”
